Lightning over Lost Lake
Around 5am on the first morning of a camping trip, Dennis wakes me up and tells me he sees lightning. Normally 5am is left to the birds to enjoy, but when camping in a tent this isn't something one can roll over and ignore. Besides, he was out the door with his camera in his hand and I wasn't about to be left behind.
Fumbling in the dark, resting the camera on a post, trying to find manual settings, the focal length, and upping my ISO, I missed several shots. Finally, my brain, finger, and camera all worked together at the right moment. There is no color adjustment, this is the color SOOC.
I've always wanted a lightning bolt photo. This will do.
There is a small gallery of shots from this storm here.
