Starting at the Columbia Gorge at an elevation of 77 feet above sea level, Dog Mountain is a difficult, six mile round-trip hike up to the top at 2800 feet elevation. That said, the climb is well worth the effort. During the later part of May the flowers are spectacular. Last weekend I posted a shot of the Columbia Gorge when Dennis and I decided to go part of the way to get our muscles in shape. http://2dphotography.smugmug.com/photos/539286527_ZE4Fn-M.jpg. This weekend the flowers were even better.
